An Unfortunate Accident
Some you may not be aware that our friend Ed Priest has a part time job as a test pilot of experimental aircraft for a secret government agency.
(That's the point of keeping secrets.)
Unfortunately, Ed was injured recently when his experimental aircraft (shown below) experienced a "significant rapid unplanned disassembly" while landing.
His Doctors said:
"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic pétanque player. Ed Priest will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster. Pointer... middle... shooter."
Ed Priest - World's First Bionic Pétanque Player
A Promising Future?
The future indeed looks bright for those players fortunate enough to be on Ed's team, but the rest of us who have to play against him may not be so ready.

Holy Cow! I want one of those!
I think he uses that little keypad to enter in what kind of shot he wants and the lasers do the rest.
Hope your shoulder heals quickly and you get back to throwing boules very soon.
I hope you a speedy recovery
So what, Ed crashed an aircraft. Looks like the CIA still has entrusted him enough to soon test drive their laser guided biotic boule shooting right armed sling-shot gizmo for European competion. Watch out France!
ED—I’D ADVISE YOU TO KEEP THE BERET ON AT ALL TIMES!
I noticed the rigging you have around your upper body. I did not realize you are also a paratrooper.
Bionics are unfair to the rest of un-mechanical humans to assist us! I say he has to play 3 feet back from the ring!
Oh, Ed!!! So sorry! Hope you are not in pain!!!!
