8-TEAM PETANQUE TOURNAMENT
|
Here's the skinny on how the tournament will do its thing:
|
- Sign-up will be in person starting at 2pm - no pre-fest sign-ups!
- The first 16 Participants to arrive will draw a team number for teams 1-8
- After the first 16 people to sign up, the next 8 arrivals will draw a team number 1-8. Ultimately, teams may have 2 or 3 members depending on the number of players who show up by the start time.
- The 8 teams will draw a terrain number 1-4 to determine opponents
- Un-timed games start at 3. Petanque savage rules.
- Sudden Elimination! Win, and advance to next round. Lose and you get to enjoy the rest of PeteFest unencumbered by the ferocity of do-or-die competition.
- First round - 8 teams play four separate matches; 4 winners move to the:
Semifinals - 4 teams play two separate matches, 2 winners move to the:
Finals - 2 remaining teams fight to the death in a no-holds-barred death cage match to the death!
- Generally, there have been 24 or less players. If you do not get on a team, there will be opportunities to play after the first round with the eliminated participants.
