Dear reader,

Nelson Ranch Spring Tournament

Sunday March 1, 2020

UPDATE - message from Christophe at NRPC:
The tournament roster for March 1st at Nelson Ranch is almost full. In fact, there are only 2 more spots available.

At this point, I will only accept a team if I also get a second team to balance out the roster. I need to keep the roster at an even number of teams.

You can still register for the event, but I will only confirm you if I get another team.
Registration went fast this time. Looks like some Texans are ready to play some petanque!

Previous message from Christophe at NRPC:
"Nelson Ranch Petanque Club will be hosting its first tournament of the 2020 season on March 1st, 2020 at the Nelson Ranch Courts.

Check in is at 9 AM & the games begin at 9:30 AM.

The tournament will be a Select Doubles, which means you have to find your own partner to form a team. If you need help finding a partner, please let me know and I will try to help match you up with someone. I can't guarantee to find you a match, but I may have some suggestions on who's looking, etc. Please try and find a partner on your own first. Best bet is to start asking the folks you practice with. There are lots of good choices here in Austin.
The tournament will consist of 3 qualifying games, then a lunch break, then 3 playoff rounds. After qualifying games, the top 8 teams with move on to the Quarter finals. The rest of the teams go to the Consolante bracket. Lunch will be the usual pot luck, please bring a dish to share. The club will provide a meat dish.

Water will also be available. Due to limited space, the tournament will be limited to the first 20 teams to register.
To sign up, please reply to nelsonranchpetanque@gmail.com with the names of both players on your team. You will pay the entry fee of $15 per player at check-in on the morning of the tourney. I have attached a flyer with all the information. If you have any questions, please email me at christophe@austin.rr.com.

Hope to see a big turnout for the first event of the year!"
